The library at school is one of the most important areas of work. She helps to implement the state program of national education and upbringing of children, solves this problem with their methods and tools in the general plan of the educational process of the school and together with the teaching staff Planning the school library is an integral part of school planning. When drawing up the plan, it is advisable to take into account the Laws of Ukraine "On Education", "On the Library and Library Affairs", "Regulations on the Library of Secondary School".  

    Proceeding from the main tasks of the state program "Education", the Law of Ukraine "About general secondary education", the Concept of the national program of informatization of Ukraine, the Concept of informatization of comprehensive educational institutions, the Law of Ukraine "About the national program of informatization, provisions" Ukraine in the 21st century, the Constitution of Ukraine, the Concept of the State target program of support and development of reading for the period up to 2015 in the 2015-2016 school year before the school library have the following tasks: 

•  Creating conditions for the development of the nation's intellectual potential, in particular by increasing reading activity, the level of cultural competence and students' interest in using the printed book as a source of information;

•  Educating students to respect the state symbols of Ukraine, the Constitution of Ukraine, a conscious attitude to the duties of man and citizen;

•   Search for new forms of work on education of students of universal values, humanism, charity, spirituality, aesthetic, labor, economic culture, healthy lifestyle;

• The use of various forms and methods of local lore work. Education of love for the native land, awakening of interest in the history and modern problems of Kharkiv;

•   Information service for teachers, aimed at improving their methodological and pedagogical skills;

•   Timely provision of students and teachers with educational, artistic and methodical literature;

• Further development of the informative function of the library as an information and cultural center of a secondary school.
